Namchi, 29th July, 2023: Following the case of the two minors and one adult, giving their witness through their social media post on the death of Padam Gurung, the two minors in presence of their parents: fathers, were interrogated by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Namchi, in its office, today.
According to the statements given by the two minors to the CWC of Namchi, when the video was being made, the girls were given instructions on how and what to speak on the video recording, by eight masked men.
The uncle of Padam Gurung, who had actually presented the girls to CWC Namchi, have said that the video was recorded in Perbing Dara, near Namchi, and the video recording was handled by a correspondent of Northeast Webshot, Krishna Chettri. The uncle of Padam Gurung, have also said that, before the minor girls were taken for the interrogation he handed over his mobile phone to one of the girls, and asked her to keep it in silence mode, and record everything they converse in the office room. At the end of the interrogation, the uncle of Padam Gurung was seen retrieving his phone from the hands of a CWC member, because he was not allowed to meet with the minors.
But, according to the sources, the CWC members of Namchi have extended their line of thoughts on the death of Padam Gurung, as a natural death, and a carelessness of the dead youth himself.
After the interrogation was over, the parents of the two minor girls and along with their daughters were driven to Namchi Police Station in vehicle, bearing registration number SK 04 P 6115. The CWC members have strictly ordered the parents to keep their daughters within their grasp, and advised the girls to stay away from one girl named Trishita Chettri.
