Sakshi Pradhan, a young woman from Darjeeling, has become the first commercial pilot from the area, breaking barriers and bringing pride to her community. Growing up in DB Giri Path, Ms. Pradhan's parents, Mr. Rakesh Mani Pradhan and Mrs. Bandana Mukhia (Pradhan), instilled discipline and a passion for education from an early age.

After completing her primary education at Bethany School and her ICSE from Loreto Convent School, Ms. Pradhan pursued her dream of becoming a pilot by studying science in high school and enrolling in Delhi Public School Siliguri. Her dedication and hard work paid off as she passed the AISSCE exam with flying colors.

Ms. Pradhan's passion for aviation began early on in her student life, and in 2019 she enrolled in Indigo's Cadet Pilot Training Program. With hard work, perseverance, and dedication, she successfully completed the program and became a commercial pilot.

Ms. Pradhan's achievement is a testament to the power of perseverance and the ability of young women to break through traditionally male-dominated fields. Her success has brought immense pride and inspiration to the Darjeeling Hills community and is an example of female empowerment in the ordinary setting of Darjeeling.
