Team Sikkim, represented by Driver Annapurna Alley, Navigator Puran Tamang, and co-driver Bikash Chettri, achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the 1st Runner up in the 4WD Amateur category of the 1st Rally of Valley 2023. The event was organized by Autoz365 Motorsport in association with Azlan Racing and Chamba Motorsport Club, and it covered a challenging route that started from Chamba in Himachal Pradesh on June 14th and ended on June 18th at Keran outpost, LoC, Kashmir. The route covered various locations, including Jammu, Patnitop, Bhaderwah, Jai Valley, Kishtwar, Sinthan Pass, Srinagar, Pharkiya Pass, Keran, and back to Srinagar.
The 1st Rally of Valley 2023, which covered a total distance of 1100 kilometers, was flagged off by Shri. Jagat Singh Negi, Minister of Horticulture, Himachal Pradesh, from Chamba on June 14th, 2023. The event witnessed participation from 22 teams from different parts of the country, who competed fiercely in various categories.
In the 4WD open pro category, the team of Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta emerged as the winner, while SK Aniruddha and Sabatullah Khan were declared the 1st runner-up. In the 2WD category, Gagan Mehta and Kashish Mehta were crowned as the champions, while Shailendra Singh and Sonal Roy became the 1st runner-up. In the 4WD amateur category, Sachin Mandwani and Harsh Singh were declared as the champions, and Team Sikkim was adjudged the 1st Runner up. Shinu Abraham and Clinton Mark Myers emerged as the champions in the 2WD amateur category. Pulkit Srivastava and Sameeksha Shrivastava won the couple’s category.
The rally culminated on June 18th, 2023, at Srinagar, and it proved to be an exhilarating experience for all the participants and spectators alike.
