Siniolchu FC Triumphs in OIL-DFA U-19 Semifinals, Heads to Finals Against Shillong Lajong FC

Namchi, 18th November, 2023: Siniolchu FC of Namchi, yesterday, represented Sikkim in the victorious semi final match of the ongoing 'OIL-DFA All India Level U-19 Inter Academy Invitational Football Tournament 2023-24', being held from November 07 and is going to conclude on November 20, at Nehru Maidan Duliajan, Assam. The team led by the team's coaches, Amos Nalboo Subba, Kumar Gurung, and team manager, Binod Gupta were given a rousing send-off, on November 07, by Namchi Football Association. Present for the flag off were, President of NFA,Basant Yonzon, Vice-President Siniolchu FC, Nima Sherpa, Senior Coach of SAI Namchi, Suren Chettri, Manager of Siniolchu FC, Sonam Karthak, and executive members of NFA. Siniolchu FC Namchi played their first match on November 11, against Duliajan Sports Academy, and won the match with 01-00 goals, which was scored by Binay Chettri, and the 'man of the match' was awarded to Sahil Limboo of the team. However, their second match was against SSC Kerala, where the match was resulted with draw with 01-01 goals, also scored by Sumit Poudyal. The team played their semifinal match, yesterday, against SAI Manipur, which they won with 03-01 goals, scored by Ajay Tamang, Chopel Lhendup Bhutia and Sahil Limboo of Siniolchu FC, for the semifinal match also, the man of the match was awarded to the team's, Chopel Lhendup Bhutia. Siniolchu is going to play their final match on November 20, against Shillong Lajong FC, as informed by the team manager, Sonam Karthak, in Namchi today. "It is indeed a proud moment for the team, and to us, that the under 19 boys are representing the state in the final match for such a prestigious trophy. And the hardwork and dedication of team managers, coaches and technical teams muat be complimented rightnow," the manager of Sonam Karthak has said, in Namchi today. Although, the manager of Siniolchu FC has shown a small concern for Shillong Lajong FC to make a better team than their own, because of the seniority in team management, as Siniolchu FC has been revived for only two years now, Karthak has explained, with the unwavering expectation of Siniolchu FC, u19 boys, to bag the winner's trophy.
