MANGAN, APRIL 15: Sikkim Fire & Emergency Services organized an awareness and practical mini mock drill program during the celebration of Fire Service Week 2023. The event was attended by business communities, hotellers, electrical and electronic services shops, and staff in Mangan. Among the attendees were MEO Mangan Nagar Panchayat(MNP), Mr Tempo Tashi Bhutia, Dr. T R Subba, Dr. Teevandra (District Hospital Mangan), FSO Mangan, BB Limboo, ASFO Chopel Dorjee Bhutia, staff, and business community.
During the program, the Fire Services staff presented a practical demo on the use of different fire extinguishers. Many business owners and households lack proper knowledge about fire safety, and the officers emphasized the importance of renewing and refilling fire extinguishers every year. The practical demo was also trialed by a few attendees to ensure proper acknowledgement, and they were informed about the do's and don'ts in case of a fire emergency. The staff shared their observations that minor carelessness often leads to injury and property damage during fire emergencies. Therefore, it is important to be very careful and follow the rules.
MEO Mangan Nagar Panchayat also delivered information about the services provided by the Fire department, and how property damages from sudden fire caught can be prevented. He emphasized that everyone should attend this kind of awareness and mock drill program.
