Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang meets with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss crucial road infrastructure projects and challenges in Sikkim. CM Tamang acknowledged efforts to maintain National Highway 10 (NH10) but highlighted the urgent need for a sustainable solution for the Sevoke-Rangpo stretch, proposing a comprehensive study by experts. He advocated for central agencies like NHAI or NHIDCL to oversee NH10's construction and maintenance, emphasizing disruptions following the 2023 floods. Discussions also covered enhancing connectivity to Pakyong Airport and proposed alternative highway routes, including one from Chochen Barapathing to Pakyong Airport via strategic locations. CM Tamang submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a 22.514 km highway from Melli to Singtam and addressed concerns about the Sirijunga Falls area's highway alignment and water supply issues at Ravangla (NH-510). He sought Minister Gadkari's support for pending proposals and urged intervention following recent cloudbursts that affected NH310A.
