Samson Tamang, who was arrested after 13 days for allegedly making derogatory remarks about the Khas community, has claimed that he was framed by the opposing party of CAP.
In his statement, Tamang said, “I am a simple person who fights for the community.” He alleged that CAP party member Ganesh Rai sent a message through Kurseong MLA, asking him to speak about the community. However, after he spoke, they acted against him and filed a case.
His arrest came as part of a joint operation led by SDPO Tashi Chopel Bhutia, in collaboration with Bihar Police (Gaya District). Following an intensive 13-day search, he was apprehended in Bodhgaya after Sikkim Police launched an investigation in response to a complaint against him.
The investigation team conducted searches across multiple locations, including North Bengal, the Nepal border, Delhi, Kurseong, and Darjeeling. High-alert operations were also carried out in Naxalbari, the Terai regions, Pani Tanki, and Salugara. Eventually, technical intelligence led to Tamang’s location in Bodhgaya, where he was arrested without resistance.
Samson Tamang is currently under police detention, and legal proceedings are ongoing. Authorities are continuing their investigation to gather further evidence regarding the case.
