Road at Khundrukey nearby NHPC dam which establishes shorter route connectivity with Yuksam Tashiding constituency remains affected by continuous landslips especially during rainy season. Today, Tashiding bound vehicle plying through treacherous Khundrukey stretch was damaged by a fallen boulder. Luckily, the occupants had abandoned the vehicle before the incident took place. Road was restored later. That particular area falls under south district administration and the demand of the locals and drivers for permanent solution of road at Khundrukey stretch remains still unheard. Road connectivity established at a steep and sinking sinking stretch awaits an immediate attention from the concerned department. Similarly, Geyzing - Legship road also remains prone to landslip and flash flood at various places such as Khopa, Raniban and 4th Mile Omchung. Flash flood of Monday night swept away a bridge at 4th mile Omchung disrupting the accessibility. Taxi drivers travelling to Geyzing had to spent the night in their vehicles at mosquitoes infested place which remains hot and humid during ongoing monsoon season. The concerned department restored the road on Tuesday morning. However, another spell of flash flood may sweep the entire stretch of the road. NHDCIL takes care of Geyzing Legship highway.
