Several leaders from the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) who recently resigned are likely to join the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) soon. Reports indicate that these former SDF leaders recently met with SKM’s Gangtok and Pakyong District Incharge and Minister NB Dahal, SKM leader Shyam Pradhan, and Maneybong Dentam MLA Sudesh Subba at a hotel in Gangtok. The meeting was attended by notable former SDF members, including Dr. AD Subba (2024 candidate from Soreng Chakung), Pem Norbu Sherpa (2024 candidate from Daramdin), GM Gurung (2019 candidate from Singtam Khamdong and former Vice President), and Kishore Khadka (former Media Coordinator), among others. Ugen Nedup Bhutia, BJP’s 2024 candidate and former MLA, was also present, adding to the speculation of a shift in the region’s political dynamics.
