Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) has condemned the heinous crime of rape and murder of 11 years old girl child by accused Pritam Sharma. CM said "no crime doer seek permission from the police before committing any crime so this was also one such crime I condemned it but as soon as the incident came into knowledge I personally enquired and our special police team sung into action after screening CCTV footage must as part of smart city Gangtok has CCTV in entire stretch of Gangtok so it was solved now court will take it's course.
As a government our job is to arrest the accused now the court will punish him as per the law. He also said that crime happens so completely blaming the government is not appropriate. The CM was addressing at the Karfectar during a Bodybuilding competition on 23rd April.
He also said in Pangthang rape and murder case Police and administration have done an excellent job and nabbed the culprit with the help of CCTV footage. The work of Sikkim police justifies the top ranking they have been awarded amongst North East states and Third in the entire nation.
Since the accused of the rape and murder case was Driver by profession and this act has questioned the integrity of the profession hence understanding the same and to boost the morale of profession CM shared "intelligence of one Guruji Sanjeev Gurung saves the life of one child and for his appreciative task on behalf of the Sikkim Government he will be awarded with one Taxi bolero".
