Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang, distributed grants to various beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Discretionary Grants

The Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang, distributed grants to various beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Discretionary Grants (CMDG) programme at Manan Kendra today. Addressing the gathering, CM Tamang congratulated all of the recipients and urged them to use the grants to further their own independence. CM during the event informed that so far, a total of 1,280 beneficiaries have been given assistance through various government funds to the tune of Rs. 25,39,83,000. Similarly, 7717 patients who underwent treatment in various hospitals both within and outside the state have been provided assistance by the government for which a sum of Rs. 31,95,74,796 has been spent so far. While a total of 1320 students are presently being assisted by the government for which a sum of Rs. 7,93,94,102 have been spent and a sum of Rs. 69 lakhs have been spent for 66 beneficiaries under Vatsalya Scheme.

CM also said anybody can file RTI and get minute details of the schemes, expenditure, and beneficiaries, details will be provided our government is not like previous government who uses the CM fund without proper accountability and CM Prem Singh Tamang also made a serious allegation against former CM Pawan Chamling of misusing the CM relief fund and warns investigation. He added that the objective of such a scheme is for Parivartan, to lead the State in a progressive and prosperous way. He highlighted the various schemes of the government, especially women-oriented schemes, which had been very successful. He stated that the government has provided various component development trainings for the students.

Tamang also informed that the government will provide certain funds to support inter-district college students.

Lastly, he said that the government has always extended assistance on a regular basis to various organisations, students and individuals for multiple purposes and continues to assist and support them.
