**Namchi, 15th June, 2023: **
The speeding bike, bearing number SK05P1487, on a 'one-way' road in Bhutia Busty hit three bystanders while riding the wrong way, before crashing on a parked vehicle at around 07:45pm, in the evening today.
The bystanders have witnessed the speed of the bike to have overly cross its regular speed limit of the traffic norms, and was being rode on wrong direction. Although, overspeeding of the vehicles in urban areas in Namchi is not new, the authorities have done nothing about it for a long time.
During the peak hours in daytime, the loud honking of cars add noise nuisances in one way route, especially near Reliance Fresh, the shopkeepers have said. The loud sound produced of the altered silencers in motorbikes are still present among the two wheelers, which cause noise pollution near sensitive areas such as hospitals and libraries.
While speaking of vehicle nuisances, taxi fares coming from Siliguri still remains unprecedented for the travellers in syndicates, near SNT, in Siliguri. However, in today's accident area, on the one way route in Namchi, via Bhutia Busty, it seems that the strict orders are meant for the taxi drivers only. The private vehicles and motorbikes are seen to be driving wrong ways, everyday, especially in the evenings, the witnesses have also said.
One of the public who witnessed the incident, have said that the driving of vehicles the wrong way was allowed during certain hours of the evening, but when asked to the police who was on duty, the police have replied that the public are not 'understanding' about one-way rules.
The three ladies that were hit by the bike in Bhutia Busty were directed to get first aid, and to lodge a complaint in Namchi thana by the police on duty, but the biker who met with the accident were taken away by his peers from the incident, who were riding another bike, and the bike which met with the accident was locked by the police near accident area.
